Corporate Social Responsibility

We believe that giving is its own reward. Our success can only truly be measured by our commitment to ethical, social, and environmental responsibility.

We are acutely aware of our responsibilities as a public-listed company of the 21st century. Beyond our obvious responsibility to our shareholders, we have a fundamental corporate responsibility to society as a whole. Our annual Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) report details our practical care and protection of the environment, of our colleagues and of the communities in which we operate.

This commitment is at the core of our definition of success — as we earn, so must we repay.

Environmental protection is top-of-mind for our research and development team. We work to minimise our impact on the environment we all share by reducing or preventing pollution, managing waste effectively, maximising recycling initiatives and integrating environmental considerations into our decisions. We support programmes that provide resources and solutions to sustain long-term results. The group has been actively participating in tree planting programmes in China, and over the past 8 years, we have been planting over 1800 acres of trees in Heyang, Guangdong Province.

Above and beyond a comprehensive insurance policy to protect our employees, we offer a whole raft of support and benefits, including an abundance of well-being programmes that enable our staff and their families to prosper and enjoy truly quality lives. Knowing that they and their loved ones are truly valued inspires a dedication to give of their best.

We strive to engender a healthy work-life balance, promoting genuine team spirit and a sense of belonging to the company, with organised social activities every 2 – 3 months. We also hold group activities that motivate us all, such as the recent ‘Conversation in the Dark’ seminar. This was a team building activity to illustrate the importance of interpersonal communication.

We do our best to foster a workspace environment that encourages and motivates our people to pursue continuing education and career challenges to give them a promising future. We ensure this by linking their performance and achievement to different incentive programmes and career opportunities. Having staff who enjoy working with us creates a high-performing business that can weather all storms.

King’s Flair and our vendors are committed to conducting business in accordance with the highest standards of business ethics and in compliance with all applicable laws. Our Code of Vendor Conducts sets forth certain basic requirements that all our vendors and their subcontractors—domestic and foreign—must satisfy as a condition of doing business with us. We strike to create this safe production environment so that our customers are confident in working with us. It also helps establish a stable working environment which is ideal to employees. We strongly believe that low staff turnover among the Vendors favours a stable production capability with our skilful and experienced teams.

The Group is actively involved in a wide variety of charity work. We are proud to be a long-term supporter of Chi Heng Foundation, Community Chest of Hong Kong, A Drop of Life and various other charities providing resources as and when needed.

Building and running schools China is another key charity programme initiated by us. Built in 2003, the school in city of Heyuan in Guangdong Province is offering education to over 100 local students. Our Chairman is now the Honorary Principal of the School.

We are also keen sponsors of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, as well as the Swinburne University of Technology. Our goal is to support both professors and students in their research projects, promoting innovation, studying better and safer, more effective, efficient and affordable environmentally-friendly production for the greater good.

Caring for the community is firmly embedded in our values and culture and demands our time and effort in addition to financial support. We make a point of actually going out and about in the community to support a wide variety of local charity work, visiting the elderly, orphans and disabled, distributing mooncakes in Autumn, for example, and various supplies needed throughout the year.
